Bye bye Big B

I have never written about B schools, but this article in the huffington post really makes me wonder , what do you need to stand out of bunch.

10 years a go, for people with an intellectual capacity of yours truly ,would be see a success matrix with MBA as the primary rank. But as more people are butchered through this machine , we have to wonder where does all the meat go.

So where do you go next, what do you guys think is the next big thing? Something we need to figure out to

Check this link Its quite a long read, but its worth the wait.

gd article but in my view this represents a tiny population of applicants.
# 1 most of the examples given are people who are working for ivy companies and dont go to ivy school.
# 2 the article talk about finance as the major but not about other specialization.
# 3 Still, there are huge number of applicants who want a career change and MBA would suit them just fine.
# 4 Applicants here in US cant be compared to prospective applicants from other parts of world.

I was having a discussion with Markiv a while back and I asked him if we could have some statistics to show how many people with ivy MBA's actually go and become entrepreneurs. I would say the number to be a small percentage, most are absorbed by top firms after that. I just feel that most of the current applicants do it because either they r fed up what they r doing, r not getting enough promotions and want to do something else.

I agree with your opinion, but my question targets what is required in the future.

If you google MBA recruiters report, you will find one by USA today or something . You will see the amount of people graduating with MBA's.

How many people you know of have got their MBA's? So there is bound to be an upper limit for this market, thats market economics, you cant flood the market with a particular product.

The secret of successful entreprenuers is to recogise the need of the market and make changes accordingly.

Its the difference between sachin tendulkar and gautam gambhir, sachin knows the shot to play even before the ball gets to him.

So what is the shot we should play before the future ball gets to us is the thesis of my argument

o yeah, i forgot to add the final line in my first post. Thats actually a tough one to answer but I think the future might hold for young entrepreneurs without the 'entrepreneur degree'.
